The tax course is designed to fulfill the annual 20 hour continuing tax education requirement for CTEC registered tax preparers to renew their registration. This Course covers topics related to the preparation of individual tax returns (both Federal form 1040 and California Form 540), the Ethics and codes of conduct for tax professional, as well as the Tax Law updates pertaining to the preparation of individual tax returns.

3IS Tax Services (Provider # 6239) has been approved by the California Tax Education Council to offer The 3IS Income Tax CTEC CE Course (CTEC# 6239-CE-0002), which fulfills the 20-hour “continuing education” requirement imposed by the State of California to renew the CTEC. Who is this for?

This course is ONLY for California CTEC registered tax preparers (CRTP) with a valid and current CTEC registration number.
This course is NOT for Attorneys, CPAs, EAs, Tax Preparers that do not prepare taxes in California, or individuals that are not currently registered with CTEC.

Prerequisites

The are no prerequisites for this course.

Requirements

Anyone can take the course for their own benefit, but in order for 3IS Tax School to submit the course credits and completion to CTEC, the student must have a valid and current PTIN number and CTEC registration.
After 3IS Tax School submits the course credits and completion to CTEC, the student will need to go to the CTEC website at www.ctec.org and follow the steps to renew their register with CTEC.
Additionally, after the student renews their registration with CTEC, and he or she wishes to participate in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP), he or she will need to login to the IRS PTIN system and Consent to adhere to the obligations in Circular 230, Subpart B and section 10.51.

Course Access, Progression, and Grading

Students need to complete the course within 6 months. Access to the course expires 180 after enrollment.

Our online courses are divided into Sections and Topics (some of our courses include multiple smaller courses).

Topics include review questions that are designed to help you assess your understanding of the material. Review questions provide feedback and are not graded.

After each section there is a quiz or an exam. Quizzes and exams are graded. You need to pass each section quiz or exam to be able to proceed to the next section. The minimum passing grade for each quiz or exam is 70%. You are allowed a maximum of 2 attempts for each quiz or exam.

Our Cancellation and Refund Policy

You may cancel your enrollment within 7 days of your enrollment – and before you have completed your first topic of the course – and receive a full refund of your enrollment fees.

You may cancel your enrollment after 7 days – and before you have completed 50% of the course – by notifying us. Upon receiving your notification, you will receive a 50% refund of your enrollment fees.

If you cancel after completing 50% of the course, no refunds will apply.

You must notify us of your intent to cancel your enrollment within 90 days of your enrollment to be eligible for any refunds.

All refund requests will be processed within 15 days after receipt of your cancellation request.
